MEATS: buy in family packs when on sale, separate and freeze.
-Chicken cutlets
-Pork chops/cutlets
-Steaks -if you purchase inexpensive cuts make sure marinate
-Ground beef
-Seafood - shrimp, scallops and fish (haddock, cod, flounder)
FROZEN FOODS:
Veggies - preferably the steam in bag type. No sauces or additives.
COOKING UTENSILS:
Basic set of pots and pans (non-stick, hard anodized best but expensive):
-1 & 2 quart sauce pans
-Dutch oven
-Large stock pot
-Frying pan
Basic baking items:
Cookie sheets
Bundt pan (I usually make cakes in this type of pan)
Muffin pan
9"x5" inch loaf pan (glass or non stick)
Angel food cake pan
9" Springform pan (for cheese cake)
-Electric mixer (hand held will do)
-Food processor (not necessary but handy)
-Measuring cups ( Liquid and dry)
-Measuring spoons
-Wire whisks
-Wooden spoons
-Silicone spatulas
-Good set of knives - for peeling and chopping
-Garlic press (Pampered Chef has the best one)
-Strainers (small and large)
